The School of Education at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) is committed to the development of programs that reflect a high degree of integration between theory and practice through collaborative program development between public schools, the community, and this university.
The Multiple Subject CLAD/ELA Credential authorizes the holder to teach school age students from non-English backgrounds that are limited in English proficiency. The CLAD (Cross-cultural Language Academic Development) option authorizes the holder to teach English Language Development and Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE). It is the mission of the program to prepare teachers who are committed to, and able to bring about, success for ALL students.
